Liz Abbott

Liz graduated in 1981 from the Western Australian Institute of Technology with Applied Science in Physiotherapy after first completing a Bachelor of Physical Education at the University of WA. She worked as a physio in rural WA for 9 years prior to moving to Canberra, where she worked at the then Woden Valley Hospital and in private practice. Liz also spent 2½ years living and working in the UK. Liz came to Corinna Physiotherapy Centre in 1999. Liz has special interests in ballet and callisthenics injuries. She enjoys working with runners and orienteers. She is a member of The Australian Physiotherapy Association (including special interest groups MPA, SPA & PBA) and SMA. Her goal is to steadily improve her orthopaedic experience working with local orthopaedic surgeons. Liz's family (Husband and 2 school aged children) are all involved in orienteering, Liz still competes at a National level for orienteering and enjoys rogaining.

Maureen Bailey

Maureen graduated from The West Australian Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) in 1974. She worked for two years at the Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Hospital in Perth before travelling overseas to work in both England and France. Returning to Australia, she worked in Melbourne for three years and in the public hospital system in Canberra for three years before commencing this practice. She has particular expertise in soft tissue techniques, manual therapy, occupational health, and women's health. Maureen has travelled as team physiotherapist with hockey sports teams and has a close association with swimmers.Maureen has been an Australian Physiotherapy Association member since graduation and has served on the ACT Branch Council for a total of nine years. She has also been on the Registration Board and is a member of the Ergonomics Society of Australia, and Continence Foundation of Australia. 

Bjarne Kragh

Bjarne (BJ) is a director of Woden Integrated Physiotherapy. He was born and trained in Denmark, and came to Australia in 1995. He set up the practice in Tuggeranong in February 1998. His areas of professional interest include temporo-mandibular (jaw) pain, spinal and pelvic dysfunction, and chronic pain management. Bjarne has three bilingual children and he likes playing soccer. He thoroughly enjoys his job and sees himself more as a life coach helping clients to optimise their wellbeing.

 

 Martin Pogson

Martin is a Director of Woden Integrated Physiotherapy. He completed his Physiotherapy Degree at Sydney in 1982, and then a Post-Graduate Diploma in Sports Physiotherapy at Curtin University in 1986. In 2008 he attended Manual Therapy International which has Physiotherapists, Chiropractors and Osteopaths as instructors, to gain a Graduate Diploma in Manipulation. In recent years he has done several courses in orthotics, the Sarah Key method, and the management of whiplash injuries. He speaks Indonesian, and is interested in travel and other cultures. Married for 21 years, with three young adult sons, he likes to keep fit, and is keen on spear-fishing.

                          

Patrick Lyons

Pat's interest in physiotherapy followed on from an Applied Science (Human Biology) Degree in 2002. Pat is currently part way through a Master of Exercise and Sports Science program. In addition to his primary role as a clinical physiotherapist, Pat shares our aquatic physiotherapy programme at the National Brain Injury pool with friend and colleague Leslie Betts. He also runs and manages the supervised gym programme which operates out of our Woden Integrated Gym. Pat enjoys the social connection that is part and parcel of life as a physiotherapist. He enjoys listening to each client's story, building a rapport, and working with them to plan and implement an effective and meaningful line of treatment. Outside of Woden integrated, Pat spends his time attempting to: expand his (severely limited) chord repertoire on the accoustic guitar; get his golf handicap below 20; improve his tennis forehand; stay in shape for local triathlons.

Joanne Collins

Jo Stilwell

Jo graduated from The University of Sydney in 1993 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy. Following her allocation year in St George Hospital in Sydney, she travelled and worked overseas for 2 years. Jo returned to Australia to work in private practice in Wollongong and Sydney and then moved to Canberra in 2000. She worked in pain management in Canberra for 3 years and completed a Graduate Diploma of Science in Medicine (Pain Management) for the University of Sydney in 2001.

Jo's interests include low back pain, pain management, exercise prescription and women's health. Jo is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
